THE BARBER’S POLE

We would really like an antique barbers pole like this one outside our shop.
Well, not one exactly like this. This comes from across the Atlantic where barbers’ poles are red, white and blue instead of the red and white ones normally seen in this country.
The red stripes signify blood and the white, bandages.
The blue stripe in the USA poles probably represented the darker blood running through veins as opposed to the bright red arterial or capillary blood but I’m not too sure about that.
Anyway, if you keep an eye for a pull down menu appearing under “The Barber’s Pole” tag you’ll find information regarding our hours of opening, price lists and anything else that takes our fancy.
We think something like this would look great on the pavement outside our shop for customers to tie dogs or cycles to while getting a hair cut. A bit like Venice maybe.
Anyway, it is probably out of the question. Doubtless there would need to be planning permission and reams of paper to fill in.
So, that’s that!
